Easter 2026
will see Community Care Gaming launch a new, Digital Champions programme
at Care Homes across England. Built upon two years of co-creating, piloting and
gaining insight from Care Home residents, our Digital Champions programme
will equip Care Home professionals with the hardware, training and support to bring
joy, and spark memories for residents through the power of nostalgic virtual
reality.
THE DOMES
The nostalgic virtual reality experience for residents starts with an
introduction to our multi-award winning, THE DOMES. With a focus on reducing
loneliness, social isolation, risk factors for dementia and aiding stroke
survivors’ recovery, residents will be able to experience initially four highly
curated, evidence-led and purposeful Domes which include:
Community
Dome: The beating
heart of our platform, where consumers can congregate with friends and family,
play a game of chess and step back into time to the 1950s through a nostalgic
cultural exhibition.
Cultural
Dome: Experience
our community-led, immersive art gallery and become inspired through art pieces
with which you can interact with and even enter.
Health
& Fitness Dome: Specifically curated for those over 50 years old, experience interactive
exercise classes, mindfulness and meditation.
Education
& Events Dome: Home to our healthy living space with support for mental health, addictions,
obesity, brain health and smoking.
We
recognise virtual reality can be a daunting experience for some first-time
users. At Community Care Gaming we have tested our platform relentlessly with
consumers, to ensure the experience is fulfilling, purposeful and familiar. THE
DOMES is a digital asset proudly and exclusively owned by and operated by us
specifically for those aged 50 years and over
Qualification in VR Healthcare
Our Level 3 qualification in VR Healthcare, combined with access to our
consistently updated Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), will give even the
most tech nervous professionals the skills, knowledge and confidence to include
and embed virtual reality enrichment activities into your weekly programme for
those in your care.
As part of the Digital Champions launch, we are looking to work
with twelve professionals to pilot this qualification, share feedback and help
us ensure it is fit for purpose and relevant. To gain the qualification (and
access to our VLE) we will require you to attend a one-day, in-person workshop
and then deliver weekly activities to your residents over the course of four
weeks, which we can support you with.
Hardwear
As soon as you have completed our one-day, in-person workshop we will
then equip you with a bundle of 5 or 10 Meta Quest 3 virtual reality devices.
You will be able to set these up and provide purposeful, weekly activities for
your residents in a safe and informative manner.
Community Care Gaming is a not-for-profit organisation and as part of
our Digital Champions six-month pilot programme, we are able to support
up to twelve professionals from different Care Homes with prices starting from as
little as £100 per month.
