Dreams Turn Into Reality:
Bringing Magic and VR to Templeton Place Care Home!

At Community Care Gaming, we are on a mission to show how virtual reality and immersive technology can spark joy, combat isolation, and bring bucket-list dreams to life for older adults.

Recently, we had the absolute pleasure of taking our Virtual Reality headsets and The DOMES to Hamberly Care Homes  Templeton Place  home Southampton for an unforgettable afternoon of exploration and nostalgia.

Thanks to the power of virtual reality, residents were instantly transported from the comfort of their chairs directly into breathtaking, life-like adventures:

• Philip Mills, 75, took to the skies to fly a Spitfire over the Solent. Reflecting on the flight, he shared:
  "It was extremely exciting, even though I was just sitting in my chair... I felt exhilarated by the whole thing."
  
  
• Sonia Wright, 78, finally got to fulfill a lifelong wish of seeing Elvis Presley in concert. Transported back in time, she sang along to every word and called the experience
  "magical."
  
  
• Other adventurous residents spent their afternoon exploring the majestic Norwegian fjords, relaxing on warm Caribbean beaches, and even stepping onto the field to play in an NFL game!

Seeing the pure happiness and watching residents effortlessly navigate these virtual worlds is exactly why we do this work. As Templeton Place's Wellbeing Coach, Kiya McFarlane, beautifully put it: "It was just fantastic to see the residents having the chance to tick items off their bucket lists like this."
